Omg Emma! I want to hear everything about your business idea!!! Thank you for writing, this is such a cool reflection!

I also very much relate on questioning the career path you've chosen - I'm absolutely clueless about this stuff so probably in no position to give advice, but I truly believe that the fact that you're asking yourself these questions means you're on the right track.

I can't say I have any valuable advice but I love that you're exploring this and sharing it here. Interested to hear how it goes and any advice you do get!

Would your business be as a freelance writer, or something else?!

I'd love writing to be apart of it! At this stage I'm erring more toward video content creation for brands as I know how in demand it is at the moment. It's something I do in my 'normal' job, so comes fairly comfortably, but hoping it'll be a natural progression where I can offer copy help too. It's definitely my ongoing problem though, choosing something that is specific enough that people will trust I can do the job without pigeonholing myself. Or maybe it's just a convoluted means of procrastination. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Content creation sounds great. Choosing is definitely tricky but having options is nice! I guess we can always pivot! Good luck with it all :)

Love that you’re exploring this idea and reflecting on your personal career path and cheerily sharing it here. Right after graduating, I started a podcast called The Aftergrad Podcast with a close friend of mine. That was 2 years ago and we’re still working together to this day. Best decision I’ve made in regards to my life and career. So to answer your question about whether or not to start a business that could one-day go full-time... YES. Just do it. And if it truly speaks to your spirit, then the money will follow in due time. I say this as someone who’s still trying to grow my brand and business without any revenue to show for it, but that’s truly beside the point. I think there’s something so revolutionary about following your heart even when it doesn’t make the most financial sense. Wishing you the best of luck in this next chapter and looking forward to hearing more about it.
